Desiray Saija is born and raised in one of the World’s major Ports – Rotterdam. Her parents encouraged her to practice classical ballet and listen to various kinds of music from an early age. This is how her wide interest in music first began to bloom. She grew up with the sounds of Soul, Funk, Pop, Punk, Disco and Classical music. She first got triggered by Electronic Dance Music at a later stage when she started visiting the most popular clubs in Holland like The Roxy, iT and Nighttown.

Magnetized by watching the skills of the DJ’s in the booth she knew what she wanted to do. She purchased two record players, a mixer and went out on a weekly hunt for wax in all the hottest record stores. She mastered mixing using Vinyl and landed her first big gig at Club Las Palmas (Rotterdam/NL). Playing alongside big names like Fedde Le Grand, Erick E and Miss Monica.

In the six years following, Desiray rocked her audience in various big Clubs and Festivals in Holland like Beach boom, Club Las Palmas, Panama, Paradiso, to name a few. At the same time, she performed as a resident DJ at Miss Monica’s “Absolutely Stereo” club nights in Off Corso (Rotterdam/NL) and Winkel van Sinkel (Utrecht/NL) for more than three years.

After a short break, she was invited to make a comeback by a good friend Lucien Foort [well known worldwide by his hit ‘Quadrophonia’], to perform on his Heroes Of House music stage at the Annual Festival of Outdoor Stereo. Inspirational sets by artists like Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber, Loco Dice and Chris Liebing set the tone for her mindset and musical direction nowadays. Her inventive mixes of Soul Deep, rhythmic techno sets are something to behold on the dancefloor.

Later on, she became the resident DJ of TechChicks and Repressure’s monthly 2-hour podcast REPRESSURECTION on DI.fm’s techno channel, one of the world’s biggest online radio-stations focusing exclusively on Electronic Music. Repressure Recordings gave her the chance to release techno music on their label, several releases and remixes are on the way hitting the clubs and festivals imminently.
